Reset oil Honda Accord warning light that appears in the dashboard of your car can be reset manually without using a computer or other device costly after an oil change.
Follow these instructions to reset service interval Honda Accord / turn off service indicator Honda Accord (after an oil change):
- Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine).
- Display the engine oil life by repeatedly pressing the SELECT/RESET button.
- Press and hold the SELECT/RESET knob for more than 10 seconds. The engine oil life indicator and the maintenance item codes blink.
- Press the SELECT/RESET knob for 5 seconds or more. The displayed maintenance item codes disappear, and the engine oil life display returns to 100%.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
For Vehicles Equipped with MID:
- Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine).
- Press the UP/DOWN buttons on the lower right of the steering wheel to select VEHICLE SETTINGS, then press the SEL/RESET button.
- Press the UP/DOWN buttons until MAINTENANCE RESET appears on the display, then press the SEL/RESET button. The oil life reset mode is displayed on the MID.
- Select RESET with the UP/DOWN buttons, then press the SEL/RESET button. The displayed maintenance items disappear and the oil life is reset to 100%.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
This reset is required to be made only after the engine maintenance performed by replacing oil and filters corresponding engine that comes with your vehicle. This operation must be performed by a qualified and experienced to not cause serious damage to the engine and the risk can not be used.
