- Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
- Press the DIC menu button on the turn signal lever to enter the vehicle information menu. Use the thumbwheel to scroll through the menu items until you reach REMAINING OIL LIFE.
- Press the SET/CLR button to reset the oil life to 100%. When prompted, use the thumbwheel to select YES or NO. Press the SET/CLR button to confirm.
- Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Oil service reset Chevrolet Silverado
1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
*Display the OIL LIFE REMAINING on the DIC (i button). If the vehicle does not have DIC buttons, the vehicle must be in P (Park) to access this display by pressing the trip odometer reset stem.
2. Press and hold the SET/RESET (arrow) button on the DIC, or the trip odometer reset stem if the vehicle does not have DIC buttons for more than 5 seconds. The oil life will change to 100%.
3. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
*Remaining oil life can also be reset by depressing the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds instead of using the DIC.
Oil service reset Chevrolet Cruze
1. Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
2. Press the DIC menu button on the turn signal lever to enter the vehicle information menu. Use the thumbwheel to scroll through the menu items until you reach REMAINING OIL LIFE.
3. Press the SET/CLR button to reset the oil life to 100%. When prompted select YES or NO. Press the SET/CLR button to confirm.
4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

2005-2010
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Press the INFORMATION and RESET buttons on the DIC at the same time to enter the personalization menu.
Press the INFORMATION button to scroll through the menu until OIL LIFE RESET is displayed.
Press and hold the RESET button until the DIC display shows ACKNOWLEDGED. This will tell you the system has been reset.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Remove the instrument panel fuse box cover.
Turn the ignition to run (one click before starting).
Press the OIL RESET button for 5 seconds and the change oil lamp should go off.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
1995-1996
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
If CHANGE ENGINE OIL light does not go out, turn off the ignition and repeat steps 1-3.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
