Reset the service oil light on jaguar s-type

Here’s how to do it yourself in no time works on a few different Jags….

Service Light Reset Instructions:

1 . Insert key into ignition.
2 . Press and hold the Reset switch (located on the Trip Computer Switchpack ).
3 . NOTE: The reset switch has to be released immediately after the ignition is switched ‘ON’. This is critical to enable the rest of the procedure.
Turn the key to Ignition position II and at the point of entering Ignition position II (i.e when a click is heard), instantaneously release the Reset switch.
4 . Wait one second.
5 . Press and hold the Trip switch (located on the end of the left-hand side stalk).
6 . Wait one second.
7 . Press and hold the Reset switch (whilst still holding the Trip switch).
8 . The cluster should display (within three seconds) the warning message ‘RESETTING SERVICE MODE’.
9 . Keep both buttons pressed until the warning message changes to ‘SERVICE MODE RESET’ (after ten seconds).
10 . Once the message is displayed the buttons may be released — sequence is now complete.
11 . If a Service Required message was displayed prior to the reset sequence, cycle the ignition to ‘Off’ and then back to Ignition position II and check that the message is no longer displayed.

Oil service reset Saturn Vue

2004-2009

Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the Change Engine Oil light is flashing, the system is reset. The light will flash for up to 30 seconds or until the ignition is turned off. If the light comes on again and stays on for 30 seconds at the next engine start, it did not reset. You will need to reset the system again.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Oil service reset Saturn L300

2004-2005

Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the Change Engine Oil light is flashing, the system is reset. The light will flash for up to 30 seconds or until the ignition is turned off. If the light comes on again and stays on for 30 seconds at the next engine start, it did not reset. You will need to reset the system again.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Oil service reset Pontiac Firebird

1998

Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. The Change Oil message flashes for 5 seconds when reset.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

1999-2002

Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Press the TRIP/OIL RESET button on the instrument panel for 12 seconds. The CHANGE OIL light will start to flash to confirm that the system is reset when the flashing stops the system is reset.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Service oil reset Toyota 4Runner

2005-2009
Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Bring up the odometer reading using the trip meter reset knob then the turn ignition off.
Hold down knob while turning the ignition key to the run position (one position before starting engine).
Hold down the knob until the light goes off. Before the light goes off, it illuminates for 3 seconds, flashes for 2 seconds and illuminates for 1 second. If the system fails to reset, the light will remain flashing. In this case, return to step 1 and try again.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
2010
Start the engine and bring up the trip meter A reading.
Vehicles with smart key system:
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch off.
While pressing the Trip Meter reset button, press the “ENGINE START STOP” switch once (do not start engine).
Continue to press and hold the button until the trip meter displays “000000”.

1.Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Vehicles without smart key system:
2. Turn the ignition switch off.
3. While holding down the trip meter reset knob turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
4. Hold down knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates “000000” and the light goes off. If the system fails to reset, the light will continue flashing.
5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
